‘Kyiv’s loss to Russia would have devastating consequences for the United States’, – Schumer said

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer issued a stern warning on Sunday about the need to provide Ukraine with additional assistance and pledged not to abandon the European ally.

Speaking after his return from a trip to Ukraine, Schumer said that this year is a “decisive moment in world history.”

“If the U.S. does not supply Kyiv with more ammunition, Ukraine will lose to Russia, and its loss will be ‘devastating’ in its consequences, including for the U.S.,” he said.

“This is a turning point, a pivotal moment in terms of the United States projecting itself – our strength, our authority, our capabilities – in the world,” he added. “When we went there, we told the Ukrainian people: America won’t abandon you.”

Now Ukraine needs additional assistance – more artillery shells, more weapons, and more anti-aircraft ammunition to disrupt Russian supply networks.
