The number of school-age children in Ukraine has reached its lowest point in the last 30 years
01.07.2025 - 09:46Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, is becoming the most unprotected and dangerous city in the country due to a lack of air defense systems.
This was stated by Valeriy Borovyk, founder of a drone manufacturing company.
During an interview, the host asked Borovyk whether Kyiv could become the most dangerous city in Ukraine. He replied, “It already is.” According to him, just last year Kyiv was considered one of the safest cities in the world due to the abundance of air defense systems of various types, including IRIS-T, Patriot, and old Soviet-era systems. At that time, only 10–15% of incoming projectiles managed to reach their targets. However, the situation has since changed dramatically.
“Kyiv is on the verge of becoming the most unprotected city because we lack interceptive capabilities. A certain strange overseas president is redirecting supplies that were meant for Ukraine to Israel, where air defense is now oversaturated. Even equipment that had been contracted for Ukraine and was ready for shipment is being rerouted to Israel. Over there, they already have an excess of air defense systems. But in Ukraine, with everything that was contracted under Biden and even new systems that the Biden administration said should be prioritized for Ukraine — there is no clarity at all, not even for systems we’ve already paid for with the help of our European partners,” Borovyk stated.
Earlier, volunteer Maria Berlinska warned that thousands of strike drones would soon be hunting people around the clock in all Ukrainian cities, including Lviv and Chernivtsi.
