September 4, 2024Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, who is currently in pre-trial detention, has been charged with another crime—illegally arranging the departure of his girlfriend’s brother abroad.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the investigation, the man first traveled to Moldova in August 2022 and then returned. In 2023, he left for Moldova again under the guise of a volunteer and did not return. On both occasions, the documents were arranged by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
The investigation indicates that Dubinsky organized these departures with the head of the public organization “Media Defense,” who has also been charged.
It is worth recalling that in March, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv found Dubinsky guilty of a conflict of interest. According to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, he used his status to send parliamentary inquiries to the Ministry of Health and the State Bureau of Investigation for his own benefit, attempting “to avoid criminal prosecution for falsifying documents to leave the country during martial law.”
The MP has been in custody since mid-November 2023. He is accused of working for the Kremlin and committing state treason.
