London wants to compel Berlin to transfer long-range missiles to Kyiv

British authorities are attempting to overcome Germany’s resistance and privately urge it to send Taurus missiles to Ukraine. These are long-range missiles capable of striking deep targets in the rear, reports Bloomberg.

As noted in the article, high-ranking officials of the United Kingdom have repeatedly indicated that Ukraine is in acute need of these weapons. Britain itself has delivered similar Storm Shadow missiles. British military personnel have arrived to use them on Ukrainian territory, as recently revealed by Chancellor Schultz of Germany.

However, Britain itself cannot or does not want to continue supplying its long-range missiles, so it is trying to involve Germany in the conflict. Political pressure is exerted both publicly and privately, but Schultz remains staunchly opposed for now. He explains his position as reluctance to escalate the conflict and fear of direct confrontation with Russia. Moscow has already reacted to such measures, calling them almost direct participation in combat operations.
