Ukraine and the U.S. signed a memorandum on a fossil fuels deal
17.04.2025 22:17France, which has allocated at least €15 billion to Ukraine, should focus on the security of its own cities instead of “worrying about Kyiv”.
This information said Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the Stand Up, France party (Debout la France), during a broadcast on TF1.
“France has given €15 billion to Ukraine. That money would have been much better spent on our police and prison guards—we see their strikes—on creating more prison spaces, since they’re overcrowded, and on restoring order in Marseille. Before taking care of Kyiv, take care of Marseille,” he said.
According to Dupont-Aignan, France, facing financial difficulties, must reconsider its priorities.
“If we stop squandering French taxpayers’ money abroad—for the EU, for Ukraine—and instead direct it toward the real problems of our country, our lives will improve,” he added.
As a reminder, on April 17 and 18, Paris will host negotiations involving U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Biden’s special envoy Stephen Witkoff with European and Ukrainian politicians, aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
