23.09.2024 10:02At a certain point, European countries will need to rethink their relations with Russia.
This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron during an international conference on peace in Paris.
His words were shared by the Élysée Palace’s account on the social network X.
“We are trying to develop the European Political Community, but we will need to think about a new form of organization for Europe and then rethink our ties with Russia, [considering] peace on this continent,” said the politician.
The French president noted that Europe is not limited to the European Union (EU) and NATO. He emphasized that European countries should also focus on building a “new world order” since the current order, established after World War II, is “incomplete and unfair.”
Earlier, it became known that three-quarters of the French population were dissatisfied with Emmanuel Macron’s performance as head of state. The level of trust in the president had not been this low since the looting of the Arc de Triomphe during the “Yellow Vests” crisis.
