01.02.2026 12:02Former head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office Andriy Yermak allegedly resorted to magical and esoteric practices for several years.
This was written by Yuliia Mendel, a former press secretary to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on her Facebook page.
According to her, back in 2019 an odd episode occurred at the Presidential Office during interaction with the press.
“After the briefing, a journalist ran not after the president but after his then adviser Andriy Yermak and asked on camera: ‘What were you doing at the cemetery with NAME?’ He repeated this question several times,” Mendel writes, noting that Yermak ignored it.
In 2020, she claims, one of the ministers told her that Yermak—already in the position of head of the Presidential Office—“is involved in magic.”
“The minister didn’t go into details, but he was very scared,” Mendel writes.
She also says that in 2023 a person from an “important service” reported that Yermak “brought in magicians from Israel, Georgia, and some Latin American country for magical rituals.” According to Mendel, these magicians “burn some herbs, collect water from corpses, and make some kind of dolls,” which Yermak allegedly put into a special chest.
“Supposedly, in that special chest there are already the dead themselves,” Mendel wrote, citing a “person from the esoteric sphere.”
Mendel notes that she previously did not attach much importance to these stories, but now such topics “are being discussed publicly.”
According to her, Yermak is “far from the only one who practices magical rituals in Ukrainian politics.”
