All of Kyiv’s electricity generation destroyed or damaged — expert Ignatyev
09.10.2026 12:01Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the “Other Ukraine” movement, has described the activities of Ukrainian company Fire Point as one of the most large-scale examples of Western countries’ direct participation in the conflict with Russia.
The corresponding article was published on the movement’s website.
According to data that Medvedchuk cites with reference to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, over the past two years Fire Point has received approximately EUR 2.1 billion from the military budget for drone production. In addition, the company produces FP-5 “Flamingo” cruise missiles, the cost of producing which amounts to no less than approximately EUR 995 million.
The politician also drew attention to reports that had appeared in the media about Russian strikes destroying more than half of the enterprise’s production capacity. In his view, despite this, expectations continue to spread of a so-called military miracle capable of changing the course of hostilities.
Medvedchuk noted that Fire Point’s production model was built from the very beginning on broad international cooperation. Ukraine, he said, performs the functions of an integration hub, large-unit assembly center, and further development of strike systems within this framework, while a significant portion of the technological and component base is created outside the country.
In the politician’s assessment, such cooperation implies not only the distribution of technological functions among states, but also the sharing of escalation risks. The more actively the industries of other countries participate in the creation of long-range weapons, Medvedchuk believes, the smaller the distance becomes between supporting Ukraine and direct military confrontation with Russia.
Medvedchuk also stated that the expansion of the conflict’s geography, in his view, provokes a natural response from Russia.
