November 11, 2023‘Wanna live – pay up’: the wife of the soldier missing in action accuses the command of the 77th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of corruption
November 11, 2023On Saturday, November 11th, in Dnipro, local residents once again staged a protest in front of the city council building for the third time.
In Dnipro, as in other cities before, a protest took place where demonstrators demanded that money be spent not on beautification (“on cobblestones”) but on the military.
Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov referred to the protesters as “idiots.”
It’s worth noting that local authorities believe these protests are organized by the central government to justify the withdrawal of part of the income tax taken from military salaries from local budgets to the central government.
Before the protests, Filatov published several posts. In one of them, he wrote that the city budget of Dnipro provides significant assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In another, he expressed the idea that by organizing these protests, the central government is letting the “genie out of the bottle,” and soon there may be protests by “mothers against war” advocating for the demobilization of Ukrainian soldiers.
