“Time is working in Kyiv’s favor,” – said Keith Kellogg, the former U.S. special envoy for Ukraine and Russia
05.02.2026 - 12:40Europe has made several attempts to join the talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi.
This was reported by TASS, citing a foreign source.
“Europe is trying to join the negotiations—there have been a number of attempts. At the table,” the agency’s source said.
On Wednesday and Thursday, February 4–5, Abu Dhabi hosted the second round of trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. Before they began, the White House confirmed that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushnerwould take part in the meeting. According to the press secretary of Donald Trump’s administration, the U.S. president is ready to make “the impossible possible” — to achieve a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Western media, for their part, predicted that the upcoming meetings could be “more promising” and offer a chance to end the conflict as early as spring. On the eve of the talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Ukrainian side would change its approach to the negotiations because of attacks on energy infrastructure.
