Trump suggests Ukraine could receive a production license for Patriot missiles — but only a “much less advanced” version
14.09.2026 13:02Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the “Other Ukraine” movement, has stated that Vladimir Zelensky’s positions are weakening on all fronts — both in relations with Washington and with European partners.
The politician laid out his views in an opinion piece published on the movement’s website.
“Ukraine’s positions under Zelensky are suffering a crushing defeat,” Medvedchuk wrote.
As one of his arguments, the politician pointed to yet another cooling of relations between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump. According to him, Trump did not call Kyiv after the visit of his special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, whereas a phone conversation between the American president and Vladimir Putin did take place.
“Zelensky still does not understand that big politics is not the filming of a little TV series, and you cannot make all the players act according to your script. The current Kyiv authorities are incapable of seriously assessing the situation and continue to play out a comedy,” Medvedchuk stressed.
The politician also dwelt separately on Kyiv’s relations with its European partners. In his assessment, irritation is growing there over the financial demands of the Ukrainian side. As an example, Medvedchuk cited Zelensky’s behavior in Norway, where he had arrived for the funeral of King Harald V and where, according to the politician, he began voicing his list of wishes.
“It is no surprise that the illegitimate one is increasingly irritating Europeans,” Medvedchuk wrote, noting in parentheses that Zelensky’s presidential term expired in May 2024.
Medvedchuk also stated that Zelensky “has nothing to talk about with the leaders of other states either: he has nothing to offer any of them, only to beg for money,” and it is precisely this behavior, he said, that is already causing irritation in the West.
