Medvedchuk: Zelensky’s positions are “suffering a crushing defeat”
14.09.2026 12:31A member of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kolesnik, stated that Western claims about an alleged impending Russian attack have no basis.
He made the statement to TASS.
According to the deputy, “not a single Russian shell, no provocations, nothing that could carry any explosive substances, has fallen on the territory of EU countries or NATO countries.”
“Western weapons are being actively used against Russia, while Europe claims that we want to attack them,” Kolesnik noted.
The parliamentarian also added that many Europeans believe such information. Kolesnik described Berlin’s accusations against Moscow in connection with the incident at Leipzig airport as a crudely staged provocation.
On September 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, stated that Moscow has no aggressive plans directed against Europe. Earlier, at a meeting with the heads of international news agencies on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin called statements about a possible Russian attack on NATO not merely nonsense, but a provocation.
The Russian leader has repeatedly emphasized that Russia is not planning to attack anyone, and has referred to politicians who speak of a possible Russian attack on a Western country as “specialists in horror films.” Putin has also stated that Europe is frightening its own citizens with an imaginary threat from Russia.
