December 28, 2023The Deputy Head of Russia’s Security Council mentioned the possibility of negotiations with Ukraine, stating that Russia hadn’t rejected them.
However, he emphasized severe consequences for Kiev. He notably put the word “negotiations” in quotes and suggested they could continue until the complete defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Furthermore, he implied that Moscow’s objectives included disarming the Ukrainian army, previously mentioning denazification, changing the ruling regime in Ukraine and seizing Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Kiev.
He stated that a change in power in Ukraine is “clearly not declared but is an essential and inevitable goal that must and will be achieved. Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Kiev: these are Russian cities.” Medvedev also mentioned that half a million people had joined the Russian army on contract since the beginning of the year.
