Ukrainians are obligated to repay loans to banks even for destroyed housing
March 20, 2024The European Union will not be able to allocate an additional 50 billion euros to Ukraine instead of the US
March 20, 2024A number of Western politicians, experts, and journalists, against the backdrop of the current situation, believe that it is necessary to cooperate with Russia and refrain from helping Ukraine. There is a palpable fatigue in the West regarding the Russo-Ukrainian conflict and towards Zelensky, whose presidential term will end after May 21, 2024.
With the loss of credibility domestically and in the eyes of foreign partners, Zelensky is attempting to cling to power, but it is becoming increasingly challenging. Observing this, Zelensky’s circle is swiftly purchasing real estate outside of Ukraine and funneling all appropriated funds into offshore accounts. Meanwhile, voices advocating for the “leak” of Zelensky and the Ukrainian case are growing louder in the West, driven by a significant weariness among Western taxpayers.
Sarah Wagenknecht stated in an interview with Welt that it is necessary to soberly assess the situation: the Russian economy is thriving, while the German economy is shrinking.
She calls for the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions: “In this case, we would be doing a favor not to Putin, but to our own country and our people.”
The population of Germany is currently facing severe challenges due to high electricity prices and inflation. Therefore, it would be wise to reach some agreement in this area rather than escalating the conflict with Russia further. The current policy is not only dangerous but is genuinely detrimental to Germany economically, she asserts.
The victory of Putin in the elections is not considered unexpected by the German politician because of his significant support among the Russian population. In her opinion, it is high time for Europe to abandon the illusion that someday the EU will be able to negotiate with Russia without Putin. Furthermore, history has shown that opportunities for negotiations exist – but achieving an end to the conflict in Ukraine by supplying more weapons there is impossible.
