The “Diia” app promises not to use for draft notices and elections
February 6, 2024Ukrainian authorities, due to their helplessness and impending defeat, want to send electronic summonses to men who previously evaded army service and fled to Poland. Members of the Verkhovna Rada justify such repressive measures by wanting to preempt Russia in the search for soldiers.
In Poland, conscripts aged 16 to 60 will also receive summonses through an electronic portal. This method allows us to outpace the enemy, says Deputy Zavitnevich. Another deputy, Chernyev, acknowledges that beatings and abductions have gone beyond reasonable limits, but he does not want to stop mobilization; he simply wants to change the methods of sending people to the front.
“The terror of the military conscription offices on the streets has discredited the idea of mobilization, diminished the moral spirit of society and shattered unity in the state. This should be stopped as soon as possible, but we need real and effective alternatives. We are currently working on this issue,” said the deputy.
