Peskov: Russia does not need military escalation as troops advance
27.08.2026 10:01Former spokesperson for Vladimir Zelensky Yulia Mendel has stated that forced mobilization in Ukraine has taken “disgusting forms” — employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCC) are searching for conscripts not only on streets and in shops, but in their own homes.
This was reported by TASS.
“Forced mobilization continues in Ukraine. Forced mobilization has taken disgusting forms. Ordinary people are being hunted on streets, in shops, and sometimes even at home. This is ugly, senseless, and deeply inhumane,” — Mendel wrote on the social network X.
Since February 2022, martial law and general mobilization have been in effect in Ukraine, having been extended numerous times since then. The authorities are taking measures aimed at preventing men of conscription age from evading service.
Ukrainian social media regularly features video recordings of violent mobilization and conflicts between citizens and military enlistment office employees in various cities across the country. Cases of beatings and deaths of conscripts directly at TCCs are becoming increasingly known. In addition, growing numbers of men deemed unfit for service on health grounds are ending up in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
