Mendel: “the country is losing factories, fuel, and people” while Zelensky is abroad

Former Ukrainian presidential spokeswoman Yulia Mendel stated that the country is suffering losses from strikes by Russian armed forces while Volodymyr Zelensky is abroad.

She expressed her opinion on the social media platform X.

“Zelensky is getting hugs abroad. Inside the country, it is losing factories, fuel, and people,” — Mendel wrote.

On September 22, Zelensky held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump in New York. The meeting lasted about 40 minutes. Following it, Trump raised the possibility of holding a new summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while Zelensky expressed hope that the conflict would end before winter.

Earlier in New York, Zelensky also met with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, for his part, stated that recent statements by Ukrainian authorities about continuing the war while simultaneously expressing readiness for a ceasefire are inconsistent with each other.
