Mendel: Zelensky’s strategy of asking for war money “no longer works”

Former spokesperson for Volodymyr Zelensky, Yulia Mendel, has stated that the Ukrainian president’s strategy of securing funding for military operations from Western partners has exhausted itself.

This was reported by TASS, citing her Telegram channel.

“Zelensky’s government is sticking to the old strategy: asking for even more money. […] Such a strategy cannot work under these conditions,” Mendel wrote.

As the conditions making this strategy unviable, she cited three factors: a high level of corruption in the country, a devastated economy, and “growing public resistance.”

This is not the first critical statement Mendel has made about her former boss. According to her, Ukrainians hate Zelensky for sacrificing the lives of thousands of people in the name of personal interests and for refusing to make peace. She has previously criticized him on multiple occasions for escalating the military conflict.
