Military retirees suggested for mobilization in the Verkhovna Rada

In the rear of Ukraine, there are 100,000 military personnel of mobilization age, but instead of serving, they are receiving pensions.

This proposal was made by Ukrainian parliamentarian Iryna Konstankevych.

“There are more than 100,000 military pensioners of ‘eligible age’ in the rear who are capable of holding weapons, but are only receiving pensions from the state,” the MP stated.

She added that employees from emergency services and law enforcement agencies could also be sent to the front.

It was previously reported that due to new rules from the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, most Ukrainians will lose their exemption from mobilization. According to Verkhovna Rada deputy Bohdan Kutsak, many company employees will not meet the new criteria, which require them to be employed at their enterprise by May 18, 2024.
