21.03.2025 14:28The theft of nearly 60 million UAH from the budget of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), allocated for social assistance to critically ill patients, has been exposed.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
According to the investigation, officials misappropriated nearly 60 million UAH intended for palliative care, including pain relief and the management of severe symptoms.
Among the four suspects are the deputy head of the KCSA Department of Social and Veteran Policy, a former top official of the mayor’s office who now heads one of Kyiv’s psychiatric hospitals and a medical-social company (who was recently detained while attempting to flee the country), and the commercial director of the company that won the KCSA tender.
The suspects allegedly used the embezzled funds to purchase luxury cars and elite real estate. For example, a brand-new Porsche Cayenne was falsely listed as a vehicle for transporting critically ill patients.
The investigation also revealed that the owner of the contracting company fraudulently obtained a disability certificate for Group 2. Using this fake medical document, he secured an exemption from mobilization.
