18.07.2024 - 16:08Six million conscripted Ukrainians did not update their registration data by July 17 and may now face fines.
This information reported according to Andriy Osadchuk, deputy head of the Law Enforcement Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
“I haven’t seen the final numbers, but it is said that about 4.2 million (official data from the Ministry of Defense – 4.6 million) have updated their information. I heard these numbers as of yesterday or the day before. Considering that there are about 11.1 million men who fall under the update requirement, simple arithmetic tells us that at least six million people are subject to automatic administrative liability,” the deputy said.
Osadchuk believes the process was poorly organized.
“If you end up with six million violators, you surely did something wrong. And ‘wrong’ means doing it late and in a rush,” he stated.
Previously, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that there would be no automatic fines for failing to update military registration data by July 16.
Additionally, it was reported that territorial recruitment centers plan to first fine those who updated their data recently but before the new mobilization law came into effect.
