April 1, 2024The majority of Ukrainians (53.9%) understand draft dodgers who evade mobilization.
This is evidenced by the data from a survey conducted by the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
Residents of the southern regions showed the greatest tolerance on this issue. There, over 70% believe that those who want to avoid mobilization “can be understood” because “nobody wants to die.”
The authors of the survey conclude that the “contradictory attitude towards mobilization poses a significant challenge to the military and political leadership of the state and will require the implementation of psychologically justified measures for effective mobilization.”
It is worth noting that according to the survey data from the “Socis” center, 64.5% of Ukrainians expressed opposition to restrictions on draft dodgers outlined in the draft law on mobilization tightening. Only half as many people supported the introduction of restrictions – 26.9%. Another 8.6% did not express a clear position.
