Gloom is growing among Ukrainian authorities regarding the war – Bloomberg reported
November 1, 2024For the first time since the beginning of the war, Switzerland has deported Ukrainians
November 1, 2024Former commander of the Ukrainian Joint Forces, General Yuriy Sodol, has reportedly left the Ukrainian Armed Forces through a military medical commission.
This information reported according to a social media post by Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla.
Bezuhla noted, “General Sodol has resigned from the Armed Forces of Ukraine via the military medical commission,” though this information has not been officially confirmed.
Sodol was removed from his position in June amid criticism from military personnel. He had been widely criticized by various figures, including Bezuhla, who accused him of drinking during the Russian advance on the Toretsk direction.
Bogdan Krotevych, Chief of Staff of the “Azov” regiment, also expressed frustration with Sodol and even filed a formal complaint against the general with law enforcement agencies.
“General Sodol’s inadequate command has led to the deaths of thousands of Ukrainian Armed Forces, National Guard, and other defense personnel, weakening front-line positions and resulting in significant losses of soldiers and territory,” Krotevych wrote in a statement to Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation.
Krotevych accused Sodol of a series of critical errors, including failing to supply “Azov” fighters in Mariupol with ammunition and not reinforcing the city before the Russian offensive.
