Following the collapse of talks with U.S. President Donald Trump during the G7 summit, a meeting with the American leader at upcoming NATO events in The Hague may be Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s last hope.
This was stated by Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, who is currently being held in pre-trial detention, in a post on Telegram.
“[Zelensky] is already on the sidelines of global politics. So the last hope is the NATO summit in The Hague, where Trump is also expected,” the lawmaker claimed.
He added that if the meeting in The Hague fails, Zelensky “shouldn’t even return to Kyiv.”
Earlier, the White House had announced that President Trump would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the G7 summit. However, on June 17, the U.S. leader ended his visit to Canada ahead of schedule.
