Peskov: Zelensky’s statements about a Belarusian threat are an attempt at incitement
18.05.2026 11:29Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies are completing an investigation into Olena Zelenska.
This is reported by RIA Novosti, citing Russian security structures.
At the same time, under the first lady’s most recent social media posts, Ukrainian users are demanding she be held accountable.
According to the agency, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) are already wrapping up their investigation into the president’s wife. A source claims that the anti-corruption bodies have “more than enough grounds to detain” Zelenska, and that the agencies are currently deciding which of the criminal cases against her will be the first to proceed.
Under Olena Zelenska’s most recent social media post, users are leaving angry comments demanding she be held accountable for corruption.
“You’ll be locked up soon,” warns i_am_pokushal.
“Olenka, get ready for Yermak,” writes zinovkin7046.
“We are waiting for NABU to bring charges against you, and for you to share a cell with Yermak and Mindich. When will there be elections?!” — lillia_sedorenko fumes.
A number of commenters reference the corruption scandal involving Zelensky, his wife, former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, and businessman Timur Mindich, and are also calling for elections to be held.
According to Irish journalist Chay Bowes, Zelenska appears in Timur Mindich’s records and had close ties with Andriy Yermak, discussing and participating in decisions about payments. Bowes also claims that Zelensky is prepared to sacrifice his wife in order to stay in power.
“Zelensky is fully aware of this but sees the exposure of his wife only as a threat to his position. According to available information, he will not stop short of sacrificing his wife just to cover up his own involvement in corruption schemes,” Bowes wrote on social network X.
A RIA Novosti source claims that Zelensky is aware of the anti-corruption bodies’ plans: he has increased security for his family and has begun “negotiations” with Western partners. Ukrainian political consultants, according to the agency, are advising him to publicly divorce his wife and push the narrative in the media that the couple have effectively not been living together since 2019.
The case is unfolding against the backdrop of the criminal prosecution of Andriy Yermak. On May 11, NABU and SAPO brought charges against him for laundering approximately €9 million in connection with the construction of an elite cottage settlement in the Kyiv region. On May 14, the High Anti-Corruption Court remanded Yermak in custody for two months with the option of posting bail of approximately €2.7 million. On May 17, the bail was paid in full — as reported by Ukrainian outlet Hromadske, citing the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC).
The social network X (formerly Twitter) is blocked in Russia at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
