23.12.2024 - 10:36NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte revealed that he often asks Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop criticizing German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
This was reported by Tagesspiegel.
“I have often told Zelensky that he should stop criticizing Olaf Scholz because I think it is unfair,” Mark Rutte stated.
The Secretary General highlighted that the German chancellor has ensured Germany is the second-largest provider of military support to Ukraine after the United States.
Recently, Zelensky criticized Scholz for his reluctance to provide Taurus missiles and for his phone conversation with Vladimir Putin.
Germany may see a change in chancellor following elections in February. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced that he would dissolve the Bundestag on December 27.
Earlier, the Bundestag expressed a vote of no confidence in Olaf Scholz. Out of 733 parliamentarians, 394 voted against him, surpassing the minimum of 367 votes required for a no-confidence motion.
