December 4, 2024NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned the elected U.S. President Donald Trump about the potential threat to Washington posed by a potentially unfavorable agreement regarding Ukraine.
This was reported by the Financial Times.
According to the NATO Secretary General, a peace agreement on Ukraine could further strengthen ties between Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. Rutte believes this could pose a greater danger to the United States.
He emphasized that NATO countries must now focus all their efforts on sending more weapons and ammunition to Kyiv, as this could give Ukraine a better chance to enter negotiations from a stronger position.
Earlier, Vladimir Dzhabarov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, stated that Ukraine has no prospects of starting negotiations with Russia from a position of strength and that the NATO Secretary General is being unrealistic about the current situation.
“Before making such statements, Mr. Rutte should better monitor the situation and not throw around unsupported slogans,” he said.
