French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent remarks regarding the potential deployment of Western troops to Ukraine have sparked discussions. His comments indirectly confirm the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine, though they are not involved in active combat. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has also acknowledged this presence without divulging specifics such as troop numbers or participating nations. He suggests that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine highlights its inability to embrace Western values and peacefully coexist with its neighbors.
Czech President Petr Pavel has further clarified that NATO personnel have been stationed in Ukraine for over a decade, primarily in instructional roles rather than direct combat units. He points out that this arrangement is in accordance with international law and the principles of the UN Charter.
