Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court set a preventive measure for Tymoshenko — bail of €654,000
16.01.2026 13:55In Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Region, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained the head of a district military medical commission (VVK), who is suspected of issuing men fake certificates of unfitness for service. The commission allegedly extorted at least $2,500 for each such certificate.
The SBU press service reported this on its Facebook page.
According to the investigation, the official was one of the organizers of an illegal scheme. Case materials say that in exchange for bribes, she and her accomplices prepared fictitious medical certificates for men liable for military service, helping them avoid being drafted. The price for these “services” started at $2,500. More than 20 instances of bribe transfers have reportedly been documented.

To find clients and “update” their military registration documents, a TCC employee was involved, working together with a 58-year-old local resident.
During searches, officers reportedly found more than $300,000 at the head of the VVK at the local Territorial Recruitment Center.
The head of the VVK and one accomplice have now been served with notices of suspicion. They face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The prosecutor’s office published a video showing bribe transfers to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk VVK. The surveillance camera appears to have been hidden in a lamp in her office.
According to media sources in law enforcement, the head of the VVK is named Valentyna Anysymivna Kurish. She reportedly holds the position of head of the VVK at Primary Health Care Center No. 3 in the city of Kamianske (formerly Dniprodzerzhynsk).
