Most Ukrainians oppose online voting in presidential elections, a KIIS poll says
16.01.2026 17:01The High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure on Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the Batkivshchyna party, in the form of bail set at 33 million hryvnias (about €654,000), even though the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office had requested 50 million hryvnias (nearly €1 million).
This follows from the live broadcast of the hearing on the preventive measure.
The judge said Tymoshenko is prohibited from leaving Kyiv Region without the investigator’s permission and must surrender her foreign passport.
In addition, the court forbade her from communicating with 66 MPs. The judge read out the full list.
Holos MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak questioned how such a ban could be implemented inside the Verkhovna Rada, where all MPs gather for plenary sessions.
Tymoshenko, for her part, said she would appeal the bail decision. She said she would first file an appeal and then ask colleagues and friends to post the 33 million hryvnias, since her bank accounts were blocked after she was served with a notice of suspicion.
Tymoshenko also said that the list of MPs she is barred from contacting includes colleagues with whom she had carried out joint voting.
As a reminder, at the same hearing Tymoshenko named the MP she says acted as the “torpedo” by recording her conversations for NABU, called Volodymyr Zelensky’s government fascist, and predicted Ukraine’s collapse after 2031.
