New scandals in military commissariats of Ukraine: two employees detained for bribery in Ternopil and Vinnytsia – media says

In the Ukrainian city of Ternopil, a senior information battalion operator of the city’s territorial center for conscription and social support was apprehended for accepting a bribe.

This information comes from the Ukrainian media “Strana,” which learned about it from sources within law enforcement agencies.

“Ivan Vishnevsky was detained; he demanded and received six thousand dollars from a guard unit serviceman (also from Ternopil’s territorial center) in order for the soldier to continue service in the city and not be sent to the combat zone,” the source recounts.

The source also added that Vishnevsky could face up to eight years of imprisonment along with property confiscation.

Meanwhile, in Vinnytsia, an employee of the draft board solicited a bribe for assisting in evasion of conscription.

“Yuriy Kirichenko, the commander of the second unit of the guard unit in Vinnytsia’s territorial center, was apprehended. He organized a scheme for obtaining money from conscripts in exchange for assistance in evading military service during mobilization. Kirichenko charged two thousand dollars for his services,” the source explains.

The source further added that the unit commander could face up to five years of imprisonment.
