26.09.2025 09:01Four men with schizophrenia were mobilized by a Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) in Vinnytsia.
This was reported by journalist Serhiy Medyanyk in a video message.
According to the journalist, doctors at the Vinnytsia psychiatric hospital were given an informal order to record all patients in official documents as healthy.
“Give him a rifle now—and with the chaos in his head, he’ll think he’s ‘special forces’ and start shooting. That’s a dangerous person, a threat to those around him. He could kill officers and soldiers, because schizophrenics have ten people living in their heads,” Medyanyk explained.
At the same time, the journalist claims that once TRCs prepare mobilization documents for people with mental disorders, the army refuses to discharge them.
“For the Armed Forces of Ukraine, every person is a unit. That means money: for the canteen, for ammunition, for weapons, for body armor. Do you understand why they need people (units)?” the journalist said.
Earlier, TRCs stated that Ukrainians with schizophrenia are considered fit for military service.
