02.09.2024 15:59The possible loss of the strategically important city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region allegedly will not mean a collapse of the front, unless it turns into a “series of catastrophes,” which could indeed lead to defeat.
This was stated by Roman Kostenko, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, during an interview with Radio NV.
“There will be no catastrophe (if Pokrovsk is lost), that’s 100% certain. The main thing is to prevent this from leading to a series of future catastrophes that could result in further defeat. At this stage, that’s the most important thing. Right now, we need to stop this steamroller. The enemy is throwing all its forces and resources to break through here, in the Pokrovsk direction, and if we can stop them now, they don’t have large reserves to act in other directions. Restarting this steamroller a second time will be difficult,” Kostenko believes.
