November 3, 2023The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a separate bill to provide approximately $14.3 billion in aid to Israel, which notably lacks any mention of Ukraine.
This information is based on the voting results, which were broadcast on the C-SPAN channel.
The bill was supported by 226 members of the House of Representatives, while 196 voted against it.
It’s worth noting that the White House budget office had previously stated that President Joe Biden would block the bill providing aid to Israel if it didn’t include provisions for Ukraine.
In a previous report by Politico, it was mentioned that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, expressed support for aid to Ukraine but insisted on separating it from the funding for Israel. The amount of aid for Ukraine, which the Speaker is willing to support, may be “incommensurate” with what President Joe Biden is requesting.
