The controversial former head of the Odesa Territorial Recruitment Center, Yevhen Borysov, posted bail of 12 million hryvnias and was released from the detention center. However, he was immediately re-arrested upon release.
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) on Facebook.
The initial bail of 150 million hryvnias (€3,427,866) was gradually reduced by the courts to 12 million hryvnias (€274,229), which Borysov decided to pay.
“The Bureau received information that after posting bail, the individual planned to leave the detention center and evade the investigation, including fleeing abroad. SBI officers detained the ex-official in Kyiv today, May 28. He has been informed of new charges for organizing the legalization of illegal income amounting to more than 142 million hryvnias (part 3 of Article 27, part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the Bureau’s publication stated.
