From 6:00 PM on Monday until midnight on Tuesday, hourly power outage schedules will be implemented for all regions of Ukraine.
This was reported by the company “Ukrenergo” on their Telegram channel.
“Tomorrow, May 20, from 18:00 to 24:00, hourly outage schedules will be in effect for industrial and residential consumers in all regions of Ukraine,” the message states.
The power supply to critical infrastructure facilities will not be restricted, the agency added.
In another post, the company noted that the warming weather has reduced electricity consumption in Ukraine. “Ukrenergo” expressed hope that this might allow them to avoid power cuts at night and in the morning.
“However, it will not be possible to completely avoid outages yet. Restrictions will continue for months—through summer, autumn and winter—until the power generation facilities damaged by Russian attacks are restored,” the channel quotes Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of “Ukrenergo,” as saying.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Energy also reported power outages in all regions on Saturday, May 18. Emergency electricity supplies were being imported from Romania, Slovakia and Poland.
