“It could be good, it could be bad”: Trump shared his expectations ahead of the meeting with Putin in Alaska
August 11, 2025Among the so-called “Timur Mindich tapes” is a conversation involving people from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s inner circle about how to “launder” five billion euros in cryptocurrency.
This was claimed by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko from the European Solidarity party.
According to him, the idea discussed was to purchase a bank in France for this purpose. The bank was to be registered under the name of Oleh Shurma — the brother of former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Rostyslav Shurma. There was even talk of asking French President Emmanuel Macron for help with the bank’s registration, as the process turned out to be more difficult than expected — the French regulator began asking questions about the origin of the funds.
Honcharenko says that during a recent search of Rostyslav Shurma’s property in Germany, this attempt to buy a bank was also brought up.
Opponents of Zelensky call Mindich the “president’s wallet” and accuse him of channeling the main financial flows for corruption schemes allegedly run by the Presidential Office.
According to MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, who is currently in pre-trial detention, informal meetings with Zelensky, Andriy Yermak, and other senior officials took place in Mindich’s apartment, where various business projects benefiting the president and his close circle were discussed.
