12.02.2024 14:2053% of students wish to remain in Ukraine after completing their schooling, although 23% express a preference for living in a different locality. Additionally, a quarter of students surveyed (26%) express a desire to relocate abroad. This is reported by survey conducted by the Vox Populi sociological agency on behalf of the savED charity foundation.
The report indicates that among students, the least optimism about Ukraine’s future is evident. Twenty-four percent of students hold pessimistic attitudes, while another 25% remain neutral. Conversely, 52% of optimistic students display varying degrees of positivity about the nation’s future with 31% exhibiting a more pronounced sense of optimism.
The majority of students (77%) aspire to pursue further education. Specifically, 35% aim to enroll in Ukraine’s premier university, 25% in another domestic university or technical college and 18% intend to study abroad. Urban students show a higher inclination towards studying abroad (22%) compared to their rural counterparts (9%). Only a small fraction (6%) plan to enter the workforce immediately, while 4% plan to enlist in military service and 7% consider taking a “gap year.”
