The State Duma stated that Zelensky’s willingness to meet does not mean a willingness to negotiate
02.08.2025 - 12:02To end the military conflict in Ukraine, a personal meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is necessary.
This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“If we want to achieve a ceasefire, a truce, or even peace negotiations, two major players must negotiate in person. And this war is not between Ukraine and Russia. This war is between the West and Russia,” he emphasized.
According to the politician, the leader of the West is President Trump.
“Therefore, without a meeting — a personal meeting — and an agreement between the two major leaders, we have no chance for a ceasefire. But attempts have been made, and they have failed,” Orbán noted.
Earlier, the official stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a number of mistakes by refusing a peace agreement.
