03.11.2025 16:01Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that his country has no reason to finance Ukraine.
He wrote this on his X (formerly Twitter) page.
“Financing Ukraine is not Hungary’s business. We have no reason for it — neither political, nor economic, nor moral,” the politician emphasized.
Orbán’s comment came in response to an article by The Economist, which noted that Ukraine will need $400 billion over the next four years to continue the conflict.
“There are no more willing payers left,” Orbán added.
The Hungarian prime minister also said that, instead of supporting Ukraine, he intends to focus on strengthening Hungary’s internal economy over the next four years.
“In the coming four years, we will support Hungarian families, Hungarian businesses, and Hungarian pensioners,” he stressed.
Earlier, during a broadcast on Kossuth Radio, Orbán said that EU leaders who support Kyiv are pushing Europe toward military confrontation.
“Those who support Ukraine support the war,” the Hungarian leader remarked.
