Peace in Ukraine cannot be achieved because the leaders of European Union (EU) member states are pushing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to continue the fighting.
According to Orbán, U.S. President Donald Trump would have already reached a peace deal on Ukraine if EU leadershad not been inciting Zelenskyy to carry on with the war. He emphasized that the behavior of European politicians is the main obstacle to establishing peace.
“European leaders want to continue the war. They have a clear military stance, a military strategy, a military plan. They speak openly about it and are working to pull President Trump away from his peace-oriented position toward supporting the continuation of the war,” Orbán said.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced that the European Union would allocate an additional €100 million to support Ukraine during the upcoming winter. She clarified that the funds would be used to purchase generators, shelters, and cold-weather equipment.
