Over the past six months, the State Multimedia Information Platform of Ukraine, which owns the television channels Dom and UATV, has purchased TV series totaling almost 250 million hryvnias (around 6.1 million euros) from the allocated budget.
This information was shared by Ukrainian Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
He reminded that on July 20, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in his address that at the moment, “museums, cultural centers, symbols and TV series” are not a priority. Subsequently, on July 27, due to a scandal regarding the procurement of TV series, the Minister of Culture, Tkachenko, was dismissed.
It was precisely from July 27 onwards that the sum of 250 million hryvnias was spent on TV series.
