02.05.2024 - 09:10Over the past two years, more than 170 rare editions of books by Russian writers, primarily Alexander Pushkin, have disappeared from European libraries.
The American newspaper The New York Times reported this, citing data from Europol.
Criminals were replacing books in libraries with high-quality copies, and some of the editions were later sold at auctions in Russia.
Recall that last year, more than 400,000 copies of Russian-language books and publications by Russian authors were confiscated from libraries in the Kiev region. The process of confiscating publications in the Russian language and replenishing the stocks of regional libraries continues. It was reported that libraries are actively adding books translated into Ukrainian.
