27.06.2024 17:31The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has voted in favor of a resolution urging the Ukrainian government to restore payments to all internally displaced persons (IDPs).
This was reported by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the resolution includes provisions for:
- Payment of social assistance and pensions;
- Provision of financial assistance for access to social housing and loans for the restoration of private housing;
- Funding for the creation of businesses and new jobs for internally displaced persons;
- Protection of children of internally displaced persons.
Additionally, the document stipulates that European countries should provide financial, security, and humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian cities and regions.
It is worth noting that most IDPs were deprived of payments amounting to 2,000 hryvnias (less than 50 euros) since March. Since spring, payments were extended for another six months only for internally displaced pensioners, persons with disabilities of groups 1 and 2, children with disabilities, orphans, and children deprived of parental care.
Furthermore, it was reported in April that nearly 300,000 forced displaced persons in Ukraine had stopped receiving pension benefits.
