Chinese outlet warns that forced mobilization in Ukraine risks large-scale protests
20.09.2026 08:04Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the “hellish sanctions” law against Russia signed by U.S. President Donald Trump “will not have a positive impact” on settling the war in Ukraine.
He made the statement during a press briefing.
In addition, Peskov suggested that the passage of the law would harm bilateral relations between Russia and the United States.
Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev called for responding to Americans with military deterrence in response to the sanctions being imposed.
The law gives Trump the right to impose 100-percent tariffs against the five largest buyers of Russian energy resources. The document also provides for sanctions against Russian defense, energy, and financial organizations, Russia’s shadow fleet, as well as against virtually the entire Russian political and military leadership.
