29.05.2026 11:33Official Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that peace in Ukraine will come faster if allied countries stop supplying it with weapons.
This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“We would expect all countries to make such a decision — then peace would come faster,” Peskov stressed.
In addition, the Kremlin spokesman said that the European Union is a party to the conflict and therefore cannot act as a mediator in negotiations with Kyiv.
The day before, the Hungarian prime minister, following a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, announced that Hungary would not supply Ukraine with weapons or military equipment. Prior to that, the Hungarian prime minister had stated that Russia and Ukraine must reach a peace agreement that should include real security guarantees for Kyiv.
Earlier, a Finnish politician stated that peace in Ukraine is impossible without the resignation of a number of European Union leaders.
