Peskov: Russia takes into account the transformation of the EU into a “military-political-economic bloc”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow is taking into account the transformation of the European Union into a “military-political-economic bloc,” as well as the process of building up the military potential of the bloc’s member states.

The comment was prompted by a statement from the Russian embassy in The Hague regarding the Netherlands’ preparations for a confrontation with Russia.

“This is the reality that currently exists in Europe. Of course, we take it into account,” — Peskov said.

The Kremlin spokesman also noted that EU countries are directing significant financial resources toward the militarization of their national economies.

According to an official statement from the Russian diplomatic mission in The Hague, the Netherlands is carrying out modernization of air bases, logistics hubs, and transport infrastructure. In addition, conditions are being created for the deployment of allied contingents and the organization of joint exercises.
