President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, believes that plans to resolve the conflict in Ukraine that ignore Russia’s position will not lead to peace.
Such a statement was made during the politician’s speech to accredited ambassadors in the country.
“We have declared our support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, while emphasizing that peaceful plans ignoring Russia will not yield results,” Erdogan said.
According to him, Ankara supports dialogue both with Moscow and Kiev, thus seeking to facilitate the coordination of a new scheme for the safe delivery of grain across the Black Sea.
Erdogan also stated that he expects a visit from Vladimir Putin after the elections.
“After the elections, we will host Putin as our guest,” he said.
Municipal elections in Turkey are scheduled for March 31. The presidential elections in Russia will take place on March 15-17.
