Ukraine lacks 9 billion dollars in external financing
22.09.2025 14:31The Sejm (the lower house of Poland’s parliament) is advancing a bill to lift penalties for Poles fighting for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) without approval from Poland’s Ministry of Defense.
This was reported by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
“The legal status of Polish citizens fighting on Ukraine’s side should have been settled long ago. We owe them a debt,” said MP Paweł Suski, deputy chairman of the parliamentary National Defense Committee, in comments to the paper.
Rzeczpospolita notes that similar bills had been frozen by the previous Polish government “for unclear reasons.”
Earlier, Polish citizen Krzysztof Flaczek, who had fought on the side of the AFU before switching to Russia, called on his compatriots not to fight for Ukraine.
