15.05.2026 13:31Polish authorities have begun revoking licenses from foreign doctors without EU citizenship who have not confirmed their knowledge of Polish at the B1 level. This is reported by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
According to the publication, the majority of those who have lost their jobs are Ukrainian citizens.
Since the beginning of May, licenses to practice medicine have been revoked from 208 foreign doctors. The highest number of cases has been recorded in the capital’s Masovian Voivodeship, where 107 doctors have lost their licenses.
In total, up to 1,000 doctors may lose their jobs at medical institutions due to the absence of a Polish language proficiency certificate.
